Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has been suspended two games for his slew foot on Derick Brassard of the New York Rangers Thursday night.
Marchand was not penalized and Brassard remained in the game. The Rangers forward spoke about the incident afterward, calling it a dirty play.
Marchand was previously fined $2,500 for a slew foot on Matt Niskanen, then of the Pittsburgh Penguins, during the 2011-12 season.
The Bruins shutout the Rangers 3-0 for their fifth consecutive victory on Thursday night.
Marchand has 12 goals and 24 points to go along with a plus-11 plus/minus rating in 42 games this season.
