Bruins’ McQuaid out 6-8 weeks with broken thumb

Injuries continue to plague the Boston Bruins.

The team announced on Wednesday that defenceman Adam McQuaid will be out of the lineup for 6-8 weeks with a broken thumb.

McQuaid was averaging 19:25 minutes per night, which is more than three full minutes than his average from a season ago.

The Bruins remain without the services of perennial Norris Trophy candidate Zdeno Chara, who continues to recover from a knee injury.
