Bruins place goaltender Tuukka Rask on injured reserve

Tuukka Rask had to be helped off the ice after getting barreled over by Filip Chytil during his goal.

The Boston Bruins have placed goaltender Tuukka Rask on injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 19.

Rask suffered a concussion after a hard collision with New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil on Jan. 19.

The 31-year-old Rask is 14-8-3 this season for the Bruins with a 2.43 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.

Goalie Zane McIntyre has been recalled from the AHL’s Providence Bruins on an emergency basis and will serve as Jaroslav Halak‘s backup.
