Bruins’ Ryan Spooner out indefinitely with concussion

Mike Hoffman scored his 20th goal of the season on the power play and the Ottawa Senators doubled up the Boston Bruins.

Boston Bruins forward Ryan Spooner is out indefinitely due to a concussion, the team announced Tuesday.

Per the team, Spooner was injured during the third period of the Bruins’ 4-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators Monday night.

Spooner, 25, has 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points in 65 games this season, providing solid depth at the centre position for a Boston team that’s picking up speed in the playoff race.

The Bruins currently sit third in the Atlantic with 74 points after hitting a hot streak in February.

Boston also announced that forward Austin Czarnik has been recalled. The 24-year-old rookie centreman has five goals and eight assists in 47 games with the NHL club this season.
