The Boston Bruins have signed forward Chris Wagner to a three-year contract extension with a cap hit of $1.35 million, the team announced Wednesday.
Wagner has posted one goal and five points in 23 games with the Bruins this season. The 28-year-old leads the team with 65 hits.
After a career-best season in 2018-19 with 12 goals and 19 points in 76 games, Wagner received NESEN’s 7th Player Award which is given to the player who exceeded the expectations of Bruins fans.
So far in his six-year NHL career, Wagner has recorded 30 goals and 53 points in 273 NHL games. The Walpole, Mass., native has also scored five goals in 33 career post-season games.
Wagner was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Draft, 122nd overall.
