Boston Bruins defenceman Torey Krug is out due a non-displaced fracture in his jaw and will be re-evaluated in three weeks.
The incident occurred on Tuesday after he took a puck to the jaw in a pre-season game against the Detroit Red Wings.
The evaluation means that Krug will at least miss the first three games of the regular season which gets underway on Oct. 5 when the Bruins host the Nashville Predators.
In 322 career games, the 26-year-old has 38 goals and 138 assists.
