Former NHL head coach Pat Burns has passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 58-years old.
Burns coached with the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils. He won a Stanley Cup with the Devils in 2002-03 and was named the NHL’s coach of the year three times with three different teams — in 1988-89 with the Habs, 1992-93 with the Leafs and 1997-98 with the Bruins.
