The Calgary Flames claimed goaltender Joey MacDonald off of waivers from the Detroit Red Wings on Monday and also retroactively placed forward Michael Cammalleri (retroactive to Feb.5) on the injured reserve.

MacDonald, a native of Pictou, N.S., is 31-48-0-13 with a .903 save percentage and 3.04 goals against average in 101 career NHL appearances with the Red Wings, Boston Bruins, New York Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Last season with the Red Wings MacDonald was 8-5-1 in 14 games and had a 2.16 GAA and .912 save percentage.
Cammalleri is currently nursing a hip flexor.
The Flames host the Minnesota Wild Monday on Sportsnet West.
