The NHL Gaming World Championship is moving closer to crowning its first-ever champion.
Twenty-four of the best EA Sports NHL 18 players from Canada, the United States and across Europe are competing in the regional tournaments for a shot at their share of $100,000.
The eight finalists in each region will battle it out in a bracket-style tournament, with the regional champion and runner-up from each tournament earning a berth in the World Finals in Las Vegas as part of the 2018 NHL Awards festivities June 19-20.

Canadian Regional Final
We check in with the tournament in Toronto, the site of the Canadian regional final. Which two gamers will emerge victorious and punch their ticket to Vegas? European Regional Final
In Stockholm, Sweden, the European regionals were dominated by a Finnish field. Seven of the eight competitors were from Finland, while the last remaining player represented the host nation. Was he able to overcome the odds and upset the field? Catch the full show below to find out.
U.S. Regional Final
John Wayne Casagranda, a native of Anchorage, Alaska, Casagranda breezed through the tournament by winning all his matches on his way to being named the U.S. Regional winner.
