New Jersey visits Montreal Wednesday in a battle of two teams that are surprisingly close in the standings.

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired forward Max Friberg from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Goaltender Dustin Tokarski, the team announced Thursday.

Friberg, 23, will join the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate St. John’s IceCaps. The Swedish winger has played six NHL games since being drafted in the fifth round in 2011.

Goaltender Tokarski, 26, has played six games with Montreal this season, posting a 1-3-0 record with a 3.19 goals against average and a save percentage of .878. He went 3-3-4 in 10 contests with the IceCaps.
