Canadiens, Bruins announce alumni game rosters

Gary Bettman and Robert Kraft discuss the news that the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic will feature one of the best rivalries in the history of sports, Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens on New Year's Day.

The Winter Classic is around the corner and so too is the yearly Alumni Game.

The Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins‘ alumni rosters were announced Tuesday, complete with a number of legends and a few more who had a cup of coffee with these storied franchises.

The Bruins will welcome back notables such as Cam Neely, Ray Bourque, Mark Recchi, Terry O’Reilly, Brian Leetch (who played 61 games with Boston in 2005-06) as well as colour analyst Bob Beers. The Habs will see Larry Robinson, Guy Carbonneau, Eric Desjardins, Steve Shutt, senior Vice President of Player Safety Stephane Quintal and Jose Theodore who played in the 2003 Heritage Classic in Edmonton.

Don Cherry, Derek Sanderson and Mike Milbury will be part of the coaching staff on the Bruins’ side while Jacques Demers and Guy Lafleur will man the bench for Montreal.

The Alumni Game is set to take place on the afternoon of Dec. 31 and the rosters are subject to change.
