Canadiens’ Carey Price skates for first time since injury

Carey Price took a step forward in his recovery from injury, skating on the ice with his coaches for about 15 minutes.

BROSSARD, Que.— Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price got back on the ice Saturday morning for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury against the Edmonton Oilers on Oct. 29.

Price skated for roughly 15 minutes before the Canadiens held their morning skate in preparation for Saturday night’s game versus the Colorado Avalanche.

On Monday, Price traveled to New York for a second opinion on his injury after struggling through the first round of his treatment. With his diagnosis unchanged, he returned to Montreal and joined his teammates on their flight to Pittsburgh ahead of Wednesday’s 4-3 shootout loss to the Penguins.

Backup goalie Mike Condon is 4-0-2 in Price’s absence and will get the start Saturday night against Colorado.
