Canadiens’ Jonathan Drouin out vs. Rangers with ankle injury

Montreal Canadiens head coach Claude Julien discusses the status of Jonathan Drouin’s ankle injury that has forced him out of the lineup, but says the medical team hasn’t given them any timelines.

Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin will miss Thursday night’s game against the New York Rangers due to an ankle injury.

Drouin, 24, has played in seven games in 2020 since returning from a wrist injury that had sidelined him since mid-November. The Ste-Agathe, Que., native is averaging 13:20 of ice time in the seven contests since he returned, but has failed to register a point over that span.

In 27 total games for Montreal in 2019-20, Drouin has seven goals and 15 points.
