Report: Canadiens’ Pacioretty may play Saturday

Watch as Canadiens Max Pacioretty gets hit from behind by Ducks' defenceman Clayton Stoner and goes head-first in to the boards.

Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty was hospitalized on Thursday as a result of a hit from Clayton Stoner of the Anaheim Ducks.

Pacioretty went head first into the boards and had to be helped off the ice. He was later sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Stoner was not penalized on the play and he will not have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.

Despite being hospitalized, Pacioretty has not been ruled out of the Canadiens’ Saturday night meeting with the Ottawa Senators in Montreal.
