Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron underwent surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday, the team announced.

Byron notched his second consecutive 20-goal season this year, adding 15 assists for 35 points in 82 games.

The 28-year-old speedster has been a solid winger for the Canadiens since being claimed off of waivers ahead of the 2015-16 season.

He is expected to be fully healthy in six months.
