Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron won’t travel with the team for Saturday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets, Sportsnet’s Eric Engels reports.

Byron left the Canadiens’ contest against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday with an upper-body injury after engaging in a fight with Florida defenceman MacKenzie Weegar.

In 54 games this season, Byron has registered 15 goals and 15 assists for Montreal.

The Canadiens are tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets at 90 points entering Friday night, although Columbus currently occupies the East’s second wild-card spot.
