The Montreal Canadiens have placed defenceman Matt Taormina on waivers.
Taormina signed a two-year, two-way contract with Montreal on July 1 after spending two seasons in the Tampa Bay Lightning organization.
He had 15 goals and 60 points in 75 games with AHL Syracuse last year, while wearing an A for the team.
The 30-year-old went entered professional hockey as an undrafted free agent in 2009 after spending four years at Providence College.
