The Montreal Canadiens have placed defenceman Xavier Ouellet on waivers, the club announced Friday.

In 19 games with Montreal this season, Ouellet has three assists after signing a one-year deal worth $700,000 with the Canadiens on July 1. The 25-year-old has been a healthy scratch several times already for Montreal this season.

Fellow Canadiens defenceman Noah Juulsen is set to return to the lineup Sunday.

Juulsen has five points (one goal, four assists) in 17 games with Montreal this season, while averaging 17:32 minutes per game.
