The Montreal Canadiens have placed forward Michael Chaput on waivers.
The move is in response to the acquisition of forward Nate Thompson in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings on Monday and Dale Weise in a trade with the Flyers on Saturday.

Chaput, 26, has five assists in 32 games this season. In 167 career games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Vancouver Canucks and Canadiens, he has six goals and 22 points.
The Canadiens lost forward Kenny Agostino on waivers to the New Jersey Devils on Monday.
