Canadiens ‘probably’ keeping Victor Mete for the season

HC at Noon discussion on Carey Price's spotty up and down season, with John Shannon saying his play is reflective of where this Montreal Canadiens team is at.

The Montreal Canadiens will “probably” keep defenceman Victor Mete for the full NHL season, general manager Marc Bergevin told reporters on Sunday.

Mete is coming off a strong showing with Canada at the world juniors, and could be sent down to the OHL’s London Knights.

Doing so would make him eligible for the Canadian Olympic roster for Pyeongchang.

The 19-year-old will also move one year closer to free agency should he remain in the NHL.

He has four assists in 27 games this season with Montreal.
