The Montreal Canadiens have recalled defenceman Jakub Jerabek from AHL affiliate Laval, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Czech blueliner has a goal and 10 assists in 17 AHL games this season.

Montreal signed Jerabek to a one-year deal in May after he spent last season with the KHL’s Vityaz Podolsk, recording five goals and 34 points in 59 games.

Wednesday’s NHL call-up is the first of Jerabek’s career, and the defenceman has a chance to make his debut against the Nashville Predators.
