The Montreal Canadiens have recalled goaltender Cayden Primeau from the AHL’s Laval Rocket on an emergency basis with Carey Price sidelined due to the flu, the team announced Monday.

Primeau is expected to join the Canadiens in New Jersey tonight ahead of Tuesday’s matchup with the Devils.

Price did not make the trip and remains in Montreal.

Primeau, 20, is 1-1 and has a 2.52 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage in two starts with the Canadiens this season.

The 2017 seventh-round pick has a 2.70 GAA and .899 SVV% with Montreal’s minor-league affiliate.
