Canadiens recall veteran forward Chris Terry from AHL

Patrick Kane scored the winning goal in the second period as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2.

The Montreal Canadiens recalled veteran left-winger Chris Terry from the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps on Monday.

The 27-year-old has five goals and 10 assists in 14 games this season, placing him fourth among AHL scoring leaders.

The Brampton, Ont., native was originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2007 NHL Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes, where he had 34 points in 138 games. Terry signed a one-year contract in Montreal over the off-season.

The Canadiens (13-2-1) suffered just their second regulation loss of the season to Chicago on Sunday and are currently atop the Eastern Conference standings. Their next game is on Tuesday against the Florida Panthers.
