The Canadiens young players are focused on proving their worth while Karl Alzner says the vets set the tone but are also there to mentor prospects.

The Montreal Canadiens have returned centre Nick Suzuki to the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL, the team announced Tuesday.

The Canadiens acquired Suzuki, 19, in the Max Pacioretty trade with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Originally a first-round pick by the Golden Knights in 2017, Suzuki had 42 goals and 100 points in 64 games with the Attack last season.

The Canadiens also announced that veteran forward Joel Ward was released from his professional tryout, and defencemen David Sklenicka and Michal Moravcik had been assigned to the Laval Rocket of the AHL.
