The Montreal Canadiens have sent defenceman Cale Fleury down to their American Hockey League affiliate in Laval.

Fleury, 21, had one goal in 41 games this season for the Canadiens — his rookie NHL season.

The Carlyle, Sask., native was drafted in the third round of the NHL Draft by Montreal in 2017.

He had been a healthy scratch in the last four Canadiens games.
