Canadiens sign defenceman Joe Morrow to one-year deal

The Montreal Canadiens have signed free-agent defenceman Joe Morrow to a one-year, one-way contract worth $575,000.

Selected in first round (23rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins, the 24-year-old Edmonton, Alta., native has played in 65 regular-season NHL games over the last three seasons in which he’s recorded a pair of goals and nine points.
