The Montreal Canadiens have traded defenceman Jakub Jerabek to the Washington Capitals for a fifth-round pick in 2019.
Jerabek has split this season with the Canadiens and the AHL’s Laval Rocket.
He has one goal and three assists in 25 games with Montreal, and one goal and 10 assists in 17 games with Laval.
The 26-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Canadiens last May after a successful season with Vityaz Podolsk of the KHL.
The Czech rearguard carries a $925,000 cap hit and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
