The Vancouver Canucks and defenceman Alex Edler are close to agreeing on a two-year contract extension.
According to Sportsnet’s Rick Dhaliwal, Edler would receive a no-trade clause, but would be eligible to be selected in the Seattle expansion draft.
Edler, 33, has spent the entirety of his NHL career with the Canucks. He accumulated 10 goals and 24 assists in 56 games with Vancouver this past season.
