Vancouver Canucks defenceman Kevin Bieksa is out indefinitely after suffering a hand injury in Tuesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Bieksa, 33, suffered the injury while blocking a shot during the third period and will require surgery to fix it.
The Canucks have not released a timetable for his return, nor any specifics on the injury.
In 45 games this season Bieksa has three goals, nine points and 63 penalty minutes.
Bieksa has spent his entire 10-year career with the Canucks, a span of 582 games. He was drafted by Vancouver in the fifth round (151st overall) in 2001.
