Canucks’ Brandon Sutter returns from injury vs. Canadiens

Elias Pettersson scored in overtime for his first career hat trick, getting the Canucks a 4-3 win over the Senators.

Centre Brandon Sutter will be back in the lineup for the Vancouver Canucks against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

Sutter hasn’t played since the end of October while he recovered from a shoulder injury. The 29-year-old has three goals and four points in 13 games this season.

Sutter will take up Josh Leivo’s lineup spot, as the forward is expected to miss at least the next two games with back spasms.

In other lineup news, defenceman Michael Del Zotto will replace Derrick Pouliot in the lineup. Del Zotto has been a healthy scratch for the last 13 games. Winger Nikolay Goldobin, who was a healthy scratch on Wednesday against the Ottawa Senators, is expected to be out of the lineup again Thursday.
