Canucks’ Brock Boeser returning to lineup vs. Islanders

Brock Boeser will make his return for the Canucks against the Islanders, joining Bo Horvat on the shut-down line and leaving Tyler Toffoli on the top line.

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser will draw back into the lineup Tuesday night against the New York Islanders.

Boeser, 22, hasn’t played since suffering a rib injury on Feb. 8 in a loss to the Calgary Flames.

The Canucks announced on Feb. 18 that Boeser was expected to miss eight weeks as a result of the injury, meaning he wouldn’t be able to return before the end of the regular season. However, Boeser returned to Canucks skate over the weekend before being given the go-ahead on Tuesday.

In 56 games this season, Boeser has 16 goals and 45 points while averaging 18:36 of ice time per game.
