VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday signed free agent forward Darcy Hordichuk to a three-year deal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hordichuk, 27, joins the Canucks from Nashville where last season he recorded three points (1-2-3) and 60 penalty minutes in 45 games. He also played in five playoff games with the Predators, recording two penalty minutes.

“One of my biggest focuses was coming back to Canada,” Hordichuk said. “Looking at Vancouver I think I’m a perfect fit.”

In 302 regular season games with Nashville, Florida, Phoenix and Atlanta, Hordichuk has recorded 26 points (13-13-26) and 747 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound native of Kamsack, Sask., was originally selected in the 6th round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Thrashers.
