The move comes one day after defenceman Alex Edler was activated from injured reserve.

The 29-year-old Archibald has recorded two points in nine games for Vancouver this season, filling in as a depth forward since being recalled on Oct. 30.

Since his call-up, the Newmarket, Ont. native averaged just 6:41 minutes of ice-time.

Archibald has fared well with the Canucks AHL-affiliate, the Utica Comets, recording six points in eight games.
