The Vancouver Canucks have placed right winger Darren Archibald on waivers, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

The move comes one day after defenceman Alex Edler was activated from injured reserve.

The 29-year-old Archibald has recorded two points in nine games for Vancouver this season, filling in as a depth forward since being recalled on Oct. 30.

Since his call-up, the Newmarket, Ont. native averaged just 6:41 minutes of ice-time.

Archibald has fared well with the Canucks AHL-affiliate, the Utica Comets, recording six points in eight games.
