The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed defenceman Derrick Pouliot to a one-year, one-way contract, the team announced on Tuesday.
Pouliot will earn $1.1 million in his new deal — a pay increase on the $800,000 that he made this past season.
“Derrick was a valuable part of our blue line last season and has shown an ability to contribute offensively,” said Canucks GM Jim Benning in a press release. “We are excited to have him back and to watch him take another step forward next season.”
The 24-year-old scored three goals, 19 assists for 22 points in 71 games with the Canucks in the 2017-18 season.
Vancouver originally acquired Pouliot from the Pittsburgh Penguins in October of 2017 for Andrey Pedan and a 2018 fourth-round pick.
