The Vancouver Canucks have recalled forward Zack MacEwen from the AHL’s Utica Comets.

MacEwen, 23, has one goal, one assist and a a plus-three rating in seven games this season.

In the AHL, he has three goals and six assists in 14 games.

Canucks forward Micheal Ferland left Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second period with an upper-body injury. It’s unclear if this injury resulted in MacEwen’s promotion.

He missed 17 games earlier this year with a concussion.
