Canucks send defenceman Patrick McNally to Sharks

The San Jose Sharks acquired defenceman Patrick McNally from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a seventh-round pick (210th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.

McNally, 23, was originally selected by the Canucks in the fourth round (115th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft.

He has spent the past four seasons at Harvard University, recording 14 goals and 46 assists in 82 NCAA games. He finished with 21 points in 21 games with 10 penalty minutes and a plus-16 rating during the 2015-15 campaign.

In his freshman season (2011-12), McNally was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Squad, was a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year and named to the ECAC Hockey All-League third team.
