The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenceman Mitch Eliot to a three-year, entry-level contract the team announced on Friday.
In 32 games with the Sarnia Sting, the 20-year-old has seven goals, 21 assists and 28 points good for fifth on the team in scoring. Since joining during the 2018 season, Eliot has nine goals, 21 assists and 30 points in 48 games along with three assists in 12 playoff games.
The undrafted defenceman decided to leave Michigan State University during his sophomore season to sign with the Sting in hopes of furthering his chance of landing a professional deal.
During his career in the NCAA, the Michigan native scored two goals, six assists and eight points in 61 games.
