The Vancouver Canucks have sign defenceman Philip Holm to a one-year entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.
Holm most recently won gold with Sweden at the world championships, following a season with the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League.
“Philip is a mobile, two-way defenceman who adds depth to our blue line,” said Canucks general manager Jim Benning in a release. “He made strides in his development last season with Vaxjo and played a strong series with Sweden at the world championships. We’re pleased to welcome him to the Canucks organization.”
The left-shooting 25-year-old had four goals and 21 points in 52 games with the Lakers, and had the best plus/minus (+24) in the SHL.
