The Vancouver Canucks signed defenceman Philip Larsen to a one-year, one-way contract worth $1.025 million Friday.
Larsen’s rights were acquired from the Edmonton Oilers for a conditional 2017 fifth-round pick back in February.
The Esbjerg, Denmark native had 38 points in 54 games with KHL’s Jokerit Helsinki during the 2015-16 season.
“Philip is a skilled, right shot defenceman who can anchor a power play,” Canucks general manager Jim Benning said in a press release. “He had a terrific year in the KHL last season and we look forward to him adding offence from the blue line.”
The 26-year-old has played in 125 career NHL games split between the Oilers and the Stars, which drafted him in the fifth round of the 2008 NHL Draft.
