Vancouver Canucks coach Travis Green provided an update on a trio of his players Thursday, revealing centre Brandon Sutter will be out for at least one week, forward Jay Beagle is day-to-day and goalie Jacob Markstrom will get the start in Thursday’s home game against the Dallas Stars.

Sutter, who played just three shifts in Tuesday’s win over the Nashville Predators, has a strained groin and will be evaluated next week. He has five goals and eight points through 19 games this season.

Beagle, who missed the Nashville game with an undisclosed injury, has one goal and three points in 18 games. He also leads the Canucks with a 63.1 percent success rate on faceoffs.

Markstrom has recently spent some time away from the team after announcing on Instagram that his father had died of cancer. He is 5-4-3 so far this season and on pace to post career highs in save percentage (.918) and GAA (2.47).
