Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko was placed in concussion protocol Thursday, head coach Travis Green announced.

Demko sustained the injury during Monday’s morning skate in Utah.

The 22-year-old is hoping to crack the Canucks’ roster heading into the 2018-19 season. He appeared in one NHL game last season, allowing four goals on 30 shot attempts.

Demko posted a 25-13-4 record with a 2.44 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in 46 appearances with the AHL’s Utica Comets in 2017-18.
