The Washington Capitals have traded for defenceman Mike Weber, the team announced Tuesday.
The Sabres received a 2017 third-round pick in exchange for the veteran defenceman.
Weber has played all of his 341 NHL games with the Sabres, the longest-tenured Sabres player before the deal. The Pittsburgh native was drafted by Buffalo 57th overall in 2006. He has 53 points and 409 penalty minutes in his career.
As per reports, the Sabres are retaining half of his salary.
