The NHL’s department of player safety fined Washington Capitals forward Jason Chimera $5,000 for butt-ending Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere.
Chimera was not penalized on the play, which took place late in the second period of a 2-1 Flyers overtime win.
The fine is the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
