The Washington Capitals added to their forward depth Monday by signing Richard Panik to a four-year contract worth $11 million.

Panik had 14 goals and 19 assists in 75 games with the Arizona Coyotes this past season.

The 28-year-old had a strong showing at the 2019 IIHF World Championships earlier this year, scoring seven points in seven games for Slovakia.

Panik’s new cap hit in Washington will be $2.75 million annually. It’s the exact same contract the Capitals recently signed Carl Hagelin to.
