The Washington Capitals signed centre Brad Malone to a one-year, two-way contract Saturday, the team announced.
Malone played the past two seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes, scoring 21 points and recording 149 penalty minutes in 122 games.
The New Brunswick native was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round of the 2007 draft.
