The Washington Capitals have signed forward Sergei Shumakov to a one-year, two-way entry-level contract with an annual cap hit of $925,000, the team announced on Saturday.

The 25-year-old appeared in 47 games for the KHL’s CSKA Moscow last season, recording 17 goals and 40 points which tied him for the team lead. He was a league-high plus-28.
In 282 career games in the KHL, Shumakov has collected 145 points with CSKA Moscow and Sibir Novosibirsk.
