Check it out: Blues unveil Brodeur’s new mask

Martin Brodeur could play with St. Louis as soon as Thursday.

As strange as Martin Brodeur looks in a St. Louis Blues jersey, his new goalie mask has a pretty fresh look.

The Blues unveiled Brodeur’s goalie mask on Twitter Tuesday afternoon just hours after the 42-year-old goalie agreed to a one-year deal with the club.

Brodeur’s annual base salary (prorated) will be $700,000, Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston reported earlier in the day. He’ll receive an additional $10,000 for every point he earns.

He could start as soon as Thursday when the Blues are scheduled to play the Nashville Predators.

Prior to joining St. Louis, Brodeur spent his entire career with the New Jersey Devils, leading the NHL in wins (688), games played (1,259), losses (394) and shutouts (124).
