The Chicago Blackhawks organization is concerned with Patrick Kane’s behavior off the ice.
“He’s obviously got some issues,” a Chicago Blackhawks source told Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times. “How many more times can these things happen? It’s a much bigger thing than some photographs in a 48-hour window.”
According to Jahns’ report, some within the organization have suggested that Kane seeks help and that some have questioned his commitment to hockey.
Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman publicly commented for the first time on Tuesday after pictures surfaced from April of Kane partying in Madison, Wisconsin rhe took part in the Mifflin Street Block Party for Cinco de Mayo.
“We are aware of that situation,” Bowman told local reporters. “We followed it closely. It was one of those things where we’ve discussed it with Patrick. We’ve handled that internally.”
The 23-year-old is coming off the worst offensive season of his five-year NHL career as he finished with 23 goals and 66 points.
Kane has a $6.3 million cap hit and has three years remaining on his contract.
