The Coloardo Avalanche placed Gabriel Landeskog on the injured reserve on Friday.

The Avalanche forward has not played since Jan. 26 when he took a big hit from San Jose Sharks defenceman Brad Stuart.

According to Avalanche head coach Joe Sacco, Landeskog is suffering from a head injury and they are unsure when he will be able to return the lineup.

The 22-year-old has one goal in four games this season. He won the Calder Trophy last season when he recorded 22 goals and 52 points in 82 games.

He will be eligible to be taken off the injured reserve as soon as Monday.
